My Skinny Story

Well my story goes a little something like this~~

In 2008 I was at my heaviest ever in my life and was very depressed. A coworker offered me the opportunity to join a study with Weight Watchers and UCF (a local college). It changed my life forever.

I will tell you now that I am not in any way advertising for weight watchers and the plan I use is not one that they advertise today. It was a experimental plan that is very similar to their new point system they just introduced last year (2010). For some reason though, the plan I was assigned to magically worked for me and I didn’t even feel for one day that I was on a diet.

I want to share my success with as many people as possible. I have had so many people ask me how in the world did I loose 50 pounds and was able to keep it off. I’ve been asked if I used any supplements or secret surgeries and the answer to all of it is NO NO NO!

The biggest changes that I made was in the way I cook and prepare my meals and in the ingredients I buy and use to cook. I do not tell a lie when I say that I eat more food and better tasting food today than I ever have.

Here is my before and after sucess:

I am still a little surprised at times when I see myself in pictures that I really lost all of that weight with little or no extreme effort. I did exercise but not nearly as much as I would like to advertise or admit. I should feel guilty that I don’t exercise more but sometimes life juts gets in the way.

In the beginning, I spent countless hours explaining the process to encouraged people, giving them copies and lists and meal plans. I came to the realization that people just want instant gratification so I decided to change up the process. I began to realize that charging people a small fee and setting up classes or individual appointments would be the way to go which is how the idea of Skinny on a Dime came to be.

I really want to reach out to as many people as possible without feeling unsuccessful myself. I still am testing out some ideas and theories but if you are really serious about wanting to loose weight without breaking your budget, I would me more than happy to help you!

Until then, I hope you enjoy all the wonderful recipes and snippets to my savings adventures!
